Membership Information
THE ASSOCIATION TO BELONG TO
- SCPA membership offers a place and voice to all elements of the industry,
whether national manufacturer; formulator; national, regional, or intra-state distributor;
or one who provides products and services. We advocate membership in associations at
national, regional and state level. SCPA membership serves especially as a bridge
for those who need the services of a large association but cannot afford or choose not to
join a national one. SCPA focuses primarily within its states but also maintains
close contact and involvement on the national scene through its grassroots contacts and
liaisons.
ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP -
To be
an active member you must manufacture, formulate, distribute or sell or
facilitate the sale of agricultural crop
protection products or seed germplasm in some form in one, or more, SCPA states.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP -
If
you qualify as an active member you may not apply to be an Associate Member. You
must provide products or services to the agricultural chemicals industry.
DUES -
Annual membership
dues for each dues year (October 1-September 30) are set by the SCPA's Board of Directors
and are payable in advance. A penalty of approximately 10% per month is assessed for
late payment. Membership is invalid if dues are not paid by March 15.
Annual dues are the principal means of financing our entire SCPA program (except for the
annual meeting which is financed largely by registration fees).
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE -
INVOLVEMENT - In SCPA you and your employees will have the opportunity
to serve and make your voice heard. As a member you will be encouraged and expected
to provide your company's talents to a committee of your choice and within your expertise.
Most SCPA officers have come up through the committee system where
their talents, interests, and support of the association were recognized.
